How We Built a Strong Foundation for ASR Tech

Blair McKay, President and CEO of ASR Tech, has spent decades leading service organizations in the technology industry, from pioneering barcode scanning with MSI and Telxon to scaling iTEK Service from under $2 million to $33 million. Along the way, he also ran IT departments on the customer side, giving him a rare perspective on both how technology is built and how it’s used. That experience shaped ASR Tech’s foundation: to keep IT equipment running longer, rethink traditional service models, and always put the customer’s needs ahead of the manufacturer’s sales cycle.

When Blair launched ASR Tech in 2021, he brought with him a loyal team he’d worked with across multiple companies: people he trusted to deliver quality and consistency. Together, they built a company that stands apart by combining deep technical expertise with hands-on service, including unique offerings like pick-up and delivery and reusable shipping systems that make on-site repairs faster and easier for their customers. Under Blair’s leadership, ASR Tech has grown rapidly, earning long-term partnerships with clients who value reliability, creative problem-solving, and a partner who truly understands all aspects of the industry.

The History of ASR Tech

ASR Tech was founded in May of 2021 with a mission to deliver dependable, customer-focused IT solutions. That same year, the team established its first headquarters in Santa Ana, CA, laying the foundation for long-term growth. In 2022, the company relocated to its current office in Irvine, CA, expanding operational capabilities and strengthening its presence in Southern California. By 2025, we have grown beyond state lines, launching operations in Dallas, TX, to better serve national clients and support a rapidly expanding customer base.
